Why Boarding?
As competition for admission to higher ed institutions continues to rise, the importance of positioning your child for success at the high school level has come to the fore. Boarding schools, first and foremost are college preparatory environments. While independent day schools can only match (and then again, only sometimes) the academic rigor that a boarding school provides, they can never as accurately model and teach the life skills necessary for confidently entering university life. In particular, the emotional intelligence, character development, and self esteem/self advocacy developed while experiencing the residential and communal aspects of boarding school life, remain unmatched in any other academic environment.
In addition to the intellectual and social development achieved on a boarding school campus, the diversity of activities offered will satisfy those with even the most eclectic of tastes. Forced to balance the demands of classes and the general stress of being an adolescent in today's word, boarding school culture provides a healthy requirement for students to engage in activities that feed the soul. Nurturing all areas of growth while guiding students to cultivate healthy lifestyles is the goal.
*Please be advised, that boarding school is not right for every child. There is a certain threshold of maturity and grit required to find success. The sad reality is that not every child meets these requirements, and the application process is designed to bring that all to bear.
